AND THE WIND BLOWS HOME
As the sun rises over misty waters,
Herons wade, and the fish swim deep,
A lonely boat breaks free of its mooring,
And drifts away to a bitter end,
A the wind blows home.
As the sun rises at the break of dawn,
People rise from the streets below.
The door silently closes on a world unknown,
Death, pain and unhappiness,
And the wind blows home.
No hopes, no dreams to carry us on,
Death and destruction at every turn,
The loss of innocence, a childhood unknown,
No trust and no faith in our fellow man,
And the wind blows home.
Take comfort in your faith,
A killer in disguise,
Arms open wide, a twisted smile,
The look of hatred, not friend but foe,
And the wind blows home
As the tanks roll through the war-torn cities,
Soldiers on foot follow through,
The homeless pack up their meagre belongings,
To begin their search for a safer place,
And the wind blows home.
Love, peace and happiness,
Is all we require,
A world with no fighting, just one desire,
To live our lives happy and free,
And the wind blows home.
