SUICIDE
Moonlight over shimmering waters,
Waves break over rocky shores,
Darkness wraps itself around you,
Claiming mind, body and soul.
Sun rising on a misty morning,
Cold air over dew-soaked grass,
Your body lies still, so cold in death,
Your soul released to a better place.
In life, you were a tormented being,
No hopes, no dreams, just hanging on
To a threadbare life, so full of sorrow,
A self-inflicted nightmare of the first degree.
The outstretched hand you refused to take,
The offers of help you pushed aside,
You chose to wallow in your own self-pity,
And finally paid the ultimate price.
What price for those you left behind,
Selfish in death, as you were in life,
A self-destruction no love could change,
Spineless to the bitter end.
Is your sould now free, in a peaceful place,
Or still wandering, a tormented being?
Will peace ever give you soul a chance,
Or will the tentacles of hate keep peace at bay?
The distant questions and guilt of loved ones,
Left behind, wondering what went wrong,
Left behind, wondering what went wrong,
Were they to blame for the way you were feeling?
A hurt so deep, can't right the wrong.
